A talk by Dr. Khansari
Mohammad Khansari received his B.S, M.S and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1996, 1998 and 2008 respectively. He is one of the main contributors to the Advanced Information and Communication Technology research Center (AICTC) of Sharif University, and the director of Iran Free/Open Source national project under supervision of Prof. Rabiee for five years (whole the project). He has more than 15 years working experience with GNU/Linux and FOSS. He had a short-time research fellowship from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), Germany at IPSI-Fraunhofer. He has given more than fifty invited talks on FOSS and GNU/Linux localization topics in Iran and International conferences such as United Nation Expert meeting 2004 (Geneva) and FOSS2005 (Syria), United Nation WSIS 2005 (Tunisia) and FLOSSWorld 2005 (India), LinuxAsia 2007 and IOSN summit (india) and LinuxTag 2007 (Germany) .
He is the co-author of three books with Prof. Rabiee and co-translator of one book in the area of FOSS. Furthermore, he has more than fifteen research papers in international conferences and journals. His main research interests are object-based digital video processing, object tracking, multimedia store and retrieval, design of multimedia systems, Internet-based services and Free/Open Source Software.
Currently, he is an assistant professor at Sharif International Campus, Kish Island.
